Critical Care

Do you know who to call in the event of a pet emergency?

As a caring pet parent, you never want to see your animal family member in distress. Unfortunately, unexpected illnesses and sudden accidents can happen at any time. At Clyde’s Animal Clinic, we want you to know that you’ve got a dedicated team of experienced professionals in your corner.

Our hospital is equipped to deliver life-saving critical care at a moment’s notice. With staff members who are adept in emergency medicine, we can quickly diagnose the problem and provide timely and effective care. Most importantly, we’ll handle your loved one’s case with the utmost compassion, doing everything possible to achieve a positive outcome.

Some of the signs that your pet may need urgent medical attention include:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Ingestion of a toxic substance or foreign object
  • Broken bones
  • Cuts, lacerations or puncture wounds
  • Vomiting or diarrhea lasting longer than 24 hours
  • Bleeding
  • Trauma, such as from a fall or being hit by a car
  • Swollen or tender abdomen
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Lameness
  • Disorientation
  • Foaming at the mouth
  • Convulsions/seizures
  • Loss of consciousness

If you notice any of these red flags, seek help right away. At Clyde’s Animal Clinic, we always recommend calling ahead when an emergency occurs. This allows us to assess the situation, provide first aid instructions and prepare for your pet’s arrival. Of course, should the nature of your pet’s emergency be too urgent for a phone call, please do not hesitate to come directly in for immediate attention.

We sincerely hope you never experience the need for emergency vet care. Should the need ever arise, however, we want you to know exactly who to call. The team at Clyde’s Animal Clinic will be here to provide the highest level of care available.
